Visiting Our Osoyoos Chiropractic Practice
If you’ve ever gone to a social event where you didn’t know anyone, you know how uncomfortable that can make you feel. Our goal is to eliminate every shred of apprehension and make you feel at home.
Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important that our relationship can go the distance. We’ve found that one of the best ways to have successful patient relationships is to explain everything in advance. No surprises!
The more you understand who we are, what we do and why we do it, the better results you’ll enjoy. It’s as simple as that.
On your first visit, you will be greeted by one of our Chiropractic Assistants, either Fern or Darcie. You will be given a brief health history form to complete, to help us better understand what your needs may be. You’ll then meet with Dr. Collins and discuss your current concerns but more importantly, the goals you have for your health. She will then complete a thorough Chiropractic, orthopedic, and neurological exam, followed by x-rays that we do here. Depending upon the circumstances, or if your case requires further investigation, you will receive your first adjustment. Expect to be here for one hour so we can get to the bottom of what is troubling you. Dr. Collins will then take all of this information and determine how best Chiropractic care can help.
On your second visit, Dr. Collins will answer all of your questions, show you your x-rays and explain how Chiropractic care can help improve your overall health and well-being. We want to ensure that you understand the process of healing you will embarking upon and what to expect as your nervous system heals. We’ll explain the options you have for your care and help you decide what works best for you, your condition and your goals. You will be here for one-half hour to ensure we have the time to answer all of your concerns.
A typical office visit is five to ten minutes in length. Because Dr. Collins has done her analysis to determine your needs, the visits now focus on adjustments to enhance the function of your nervous system. When patients are just beginning care, they may need adjustments timed two or three times per week to start the process of healing. When under wellness care, patients need to come less frequently, with adjustments designed to keep things working properly. If you’ve had an accident, illness or require additional time with Dr. Collins, we ask that you call ahead and schedule additional time.
